Casinos Want You To Forget What Time It Is

The next time you step foot inside of a casino, look around.
Do you see any clocks?
The answer to that question will almost certainly be "no".
The truth is - casinos do this intentionally.
They don't want you to know what time it is.
In fact, they want you to lose complete track of the time.
No clocks, cold air, confusing building layouts, tinted windows (from the inside) - these are all some of the tricks used to keep you inside of their casino.
-
How many times have you been sitting at a slot machine and completely forgotten the time?
How many times have you sat down to play a table game in the evening, only to realize that it is now morning?
This confusion is the direct result of policies that casinos intentionally implement to keep you inside of their casino for as long as possible.
They don't want you to know the time.
They don't want you to know that it's now morning and you've been playing through the night.
They don't want you to leave to get food somewhere else.

Sure, everybody has cell phones nowadays, so the "clock trick" doesn't work as well as it used to.
It does still work, hwoever, if you lose track of time and don't pull out your cell phone for long periods of time because you are engulfed in some slot machine action.
They don't want your eyes to rest on a clock on the other side of the casino.
They don't want you to realize that you are up five hours past your regular bedtime.
They don't want you to realize that you have a concert at another casino to go to.
They want you to stay, and removing any clocks from the casino is one way to do it.
